Distrust vs. mistrust

Distrust = lack of trust based on experience. Mistrust = lack of trust based on lack of experience. But the words are often used interchangeably.

Droll originally meant amusingly odd or whimsically comical. It’s now widely used to mean deadpan, sarcastic, muted, or dull.
