Chute vs. shoot

A chute is (1) a trough, tube, or channel through which things may pass; (2) a waterfall; and (3) a parachute. For any of these uses, shoot (which has numerous definitions of its own) is a misspelling of chute.

Shute, meanwhile, is only a name.
